Jen and Ryan got engaged on the 10th hole at 10:10 in the morning on 10.10.10.
They got married two years ago today on 10.1.11.
Their first baby is due next week on 10.11.13.
Jen’s mom commissioned this painting for them – an artist herself, she wanted to give them something they will treasure always as their family grows.
It seemed perfect to create their commemorative artwork with as much meaning as possible – with 82 layers (8+2=10). I used real bark to create the black walnut tree, one of dozens the venue is known for. And the hangar that holds Jen’s delicate lace dress. The tree trunk is the ‘1’- and the circle of dates (10.10.10 and 10.01.11) surrounding it is the ‘0.’
I named it “New Beginning of Love and Light” because in numerology, that is what the 10th month, October means.
As a new beginning, I wanted to use a new technique I have never used before. See the ‘crinkles’ in the backdround – they were created with a saran wrap texture process.
Happy anniversary Jen and Ryan and happy birthday you lucky baby!
