Uses for Sentimental Paper: Meaningful Decor for the Wedding That Lasts…

When I heard that the wedding blog Style Unveiled and stationer Copper Willow Paper Studio were teaming up to do an inspiration photo shoot based on paper, I just about did cart wheels I was so excited!

Why? Because if you think about it, many of our favorite memories with our fiance are on paper – photos, ticket stubs, lift tickets, concert tickets, the wedding invitation…you get the picture. All of which can become a part of a couple’s love story as art. Ready as beautiful decor at the wedding. Forever as home decor…

A

100 percent of my artwork contains some kind of material – whether its paper, fabric, sand, flower petals etc. I take any chance I can get to make my client’s artwork even more meaningful for them. And using paper from their wedding or event enables me to do that, like from a couple’s wedding invitation, photographs, postcards, cards etc.

This inspiration shoot features a variety of creative uses for paper. My contribution was a 38 layer, 36″x36″ mixed-media painting on canvas with two love birds perched in front of the paper, a wedding dress painting and reception table artwork that can be created instead of standard numbers. And what better way to say thank you to your wedding party, parents and guests then to give them this gift of art as a forever memory of your day.

Artwork like this gives life to the decor and ties everything together. Whether it’s in the lounge area, cake table or reception. And something that will be a forever reminder in the home as beautiful decor to share the story with friends and family. Christine Bentley Photography C D

  1. The piece is so vibrant and playful, but meaningful too. We’re all about saving those wedding treasures for the home. A wedding is supposed to be one of the best times in our lives; why not place things around us to remind us of it? Such a lovely shoot!
